hello, i am posting this hoping some Amilo PI/XI 1546 owners will chime in on my problem. i have an Alienware m5750, currently with 1.19 BIOS and 4GB of ram. i am on my second x1800 and was looking to upgrade the GPU for the longest time. looked and looked, and finally found a HD4670 GDDR3 512MB card from an MSI GX623 laptop, green pcb. it came in, i modified the heatsink and - no go! nothing! flash of the lights on the panel for about a second and the laptop turns off. i am willing to try a bunch of things to get the card to work. first i will try taking out 1 memory stick in case i'm exceeding the 4GB limit, which i don't think i am. next i will try going to 2.06 and 2.07 BIOS. what else can i try??? i know flashing the card with another BIOS will brick it, because the other two vBIOS files available for the 4670 on techpowerup are 1GB DDR2 versions. unless i need to try an Acer 512MB version vBIOS.

if this MSI 4670 512MB GDDR3 card has worked for your Amilo Pi/Xi or AW m5750/5790, please reply! thank you!

    Hi friend,

Works only MXM II hd4670 512MB GDDR3 with MSI EX625 (bios MSI) or MXM II hd4670 1GB DDR2 with MSI EX628 (bios MSI) or MXM II hd4670 512MB GDDR3 with Acer - I don't remember the model (bios Acer). Attention needs to modified the heatsink!

thank you for the reply! my card is from a MSI GX623 and i guess it has this vBIOS version: 011.021.000.006.032662

i believe i need the one from GX625, version: 011.021.000.006.033017 but i cannot find it anywhere!

if somebody has a MSI GX625 with the original HD4670 512MB GDDR3 card please upload your vBIOS to techpowerup or straight email it to me! just send a message and i will give you my email address.
    again, i need version 011.021.000.006.033017

    THANK YOU!

There is no GX625 laptop, are only GX623, EX625 and EX628.
I think VBIOS version: 011.021.000.006.032662 is good for Fujitsu-Siemens and Alienware.
Probably you bought damaged card or you damage it during installation.
Check this card on the MSI laptop (GX623, EX625 or EX628)

    Regards

finally updated my system BIOS to 2.07w and the card fired right up! i've been stuck on 1.19w ever since my DVD drive stopped reading. did it through a USB drive and everything is perfect, except for temps, but that's another story.
