    Hi

I have a 6 month old M3438G and am experiencing a problem with it powering down occasionally, about once a day.

It never happens when the machine is sitting idle, and happens without warning, but while I am working. The machine is only really used for MS Office, email and web surfing. The second fan rarely cuts in, and is never on when the problem occurs - i.e. the machine is not under load.

The machine does not reboot - it is just an instant power down as if the battery was removed. I don't think I've had the problem when running on battery, just on mains. There are no entries in any XP event logs.

Am just wondering if this is a problem anyone else has experienced.

I don't think I've heard one jsut like that. So it doesn't sound like over heating, I think you'll need to send it in for repair, might be a physical problem.
