For the new S6000 and S2000 series that are coming up, which processor would be better for prolonged use?

If you want longer battery life, i would stick with Intel's Pentium M...

If battery life isn't that important to you, you can save a ton of money on AMD chips and get excellent performance.

While I believe AMD processors are fantastic and powerful, until they improve battery life, I would stick with Intel for mobile use....

The PM is a superior chip in almost every way. Less heat, longer battery life....

However, the newer S6000 uses the newer, hungrier Sonoma chipset. I thought that the Turion version actually had better battery life now.

That's really not the case, Sonoma is still better.

Well, the new s2110 uses the MT turion and is more power efficient than the ML turion used in those other laptops, and the pentium M used in the new s6240 is the sonoma and uses more power than the previous pentium M so it's getting closer.
From the specs of the new s2110 and s6240, it seems like the s2110 will actually last longer on batteries, but it could be due to a lot of other things than just the processor.
Now that the s2110 has the same chasis than the s6240 (i suppose they wieght the same now), i find the s2110 more tempting than the s6240. Too bad i can't wait the extra month or two, already bought a nc6230, which is more than half a kilo heavier . Oh well.

Since its essentially the same chassis, it will be interesting to see what the price difference is between the S6240 and S2110. Any guesses?

Unless its pretty low I would guess most people who are willing to pay a bit more for a Fujitsu laptop in the first place aren't going to mind paying a little more for the Pentium M. On the other hand, if the price is right they may find a new group of buyers for the S2110 who would not have ordinarily paid a premium for a Fujitsu machine and would have bought a different brand.....

both the new fujitsu laptops are at the top of my list, and at portable one i can get alot more power for the money. But is the AMD Turion 64 MT worth the 200 or what ever cheaper price? how is it worse i guess is what im asking.
