I'm looking to replace my 3-year old Fujitsu N3511. It appears that the most direct replacement for the N3511 in the current lineup is the A6210. One of the things I use my N3511 for is displaying digital photos to a high-def 1080p TV. In reviewing the video specs for the A6210, I was astonished to see that the max resolution for an external display is 1600X1200, which is considerably less than what is offered by my N3511 (2048X1536), and is completely inadequate for display to a wide-screen HDTV.
However, I am hoping that the 1600X1200 limitation pertains specifically to the external VGA port, and not the HDMI port. I'd like to think that the HDMI port is capable of sending a full 1080p (or 1080i) signal (1920X1080), so that it will fill my TV's screen. Unfortunately I can't seem to be able to get anyone at either Fujitsu sales or tech support to confirm this. The user's guide doesn't deal with this issue either.
Does anyone here have an A6210 and if so, can you tell me your experience with the HDMI port? Short of that, can anyone tell me if notebook HDMI ports in general will offer a 1920X1080 signal or if the port is indeed limited by the external resoltion capabilities of the video controller?
Thanks,
Russ
