I recently bought a Fujitsu A3130 - a laptop with a Turion 64-bit chip. For some reason, Fujitsu decided to ship this computer with a 32-bit version of Vista Home Premium. Now, I can't seem to get a 64-bit version. The Windows site doesn't recognize my product ID (in fact, I can't even get into Windows support) and Fujitsu's phone rep claimed they don't have any 64-bit Vista copies.

So, my question is - has anyone succeeded in getting a 64-bit version of Vista from Fujitsu?

I know this doesn't answer your question, but if it makes you feel better, all the other major PC vendors are also shipping 32-bit Vista with their 64-bit CPUs.

Could buy the 64 bit version of the anytime upgrade disc. I think it's $5 at CompUSA though would have to install the Apps and drivers yourself.

Why do you want a 64-bit Vista?
What product ID? Windows OS Product ID/Serial Number?
Try giving the phone rep the serial number or product number of your A3130 to pull out the order information of your A3130.
Did you check your order number or invoice (paper invoice, packing list, email, etc.) for the specs?
Do you have any email or other proof like a printed order summary when you checked out or an email of the order summary?
Try to give Fujitsu your invoice number or order number to see if they can pull any information regarding your A3130.

I wanted to get an A3130 but it seems there are bugs on the customiztion page of Lifebook A3130. I can't get through Step1 using Vista Business.

As far as I know Fujitsu does not support Vista64...but I might be wrong.

As far as I know, only some of the Lenovo BTO models have the Vista64 OS option. Most of the laptop on the market don't have this kind of flexibility. Probabily, you have to install Vista64 by yourself.

Fujitsu Asia Pacific as well as Fujitsu EU do provide some Vista64 drivers for some specific models. They are enough for you to install Vista64 without big troubles. However, not all the fujitsu featured Apps are Vista64 compatible.

What are these "bugs"? Are they vista related that could be ironed out?
This is the first I've heard of that issue on the 3130. thanks!
