Help!! I'm unable to create a Factory Image recovery disc from "My Recovery" utility.

the error given by the utility was "DVD Writer was not found".
however, I do have a DVD-RW drive in the fujitsu laptop and it is a Mata DVD-RAM drive.

windows is able to detect the DVD-RW drive, and it even asks me if i want to burn stuff to it whenever i enter a blank disc.

why is the Fujitsu "My Recovery" utility unable to detect the DVD-RW drive??

ok problem solved after going through several .ini files and trying to think of what was missing.

Here is what I found: -
error "DVD Writer was not found" was given because the Fujitsu "My Recovery" utility requires Roxio Creator to work.

To install Roxio, go to hidden partition "Z:\MyRecovery\ManUpd\RoxioCreator" and install it first, then try to backup the Factory Image again.

phew.. hope it works for u guys

i have a different model Fujitsu (A6020)... i know when i first bought it, it wasn't completely clear to me how to use everything and so i threw out a few discs that i might have needed today... anyways... i was lucky to make a backup of their restore disc. even though i only have the basics left like their drivers and vista on my system... it is luck that i even still have the computer... i am not that smart and like it done the easiest way possiblehehe anyways... i was just saying thank you for the information just in case i needed it because it sounded like it wasn't self explanatory... take care and Merry Christmas (your computer is working!hehe)
