emachine told me last night that the memory upgrade on the m6810-11 from 512 to 1.2 may not actually be possible. Reason is with two sticks it may only run as fast as the slowest stick. Are they just b.s.-ing when the give spec.'s or does it perform better with a stick of 1GB and an internal exiting stick of 256?
Also they are sending my a box to fix my cracked hinge, I may try and find a replacement at Bast Buy.

Bestbuy may be able to replace the internal stick also so u could get 2 512 sticks becuase u wouldnt want the internal stick to slow down the other module. or if u dont want to go that route just replace the user accessible stick, with a 1GB module try www.newegg.com they usually have good prices.the ram timings can be slow on the internal stick

emachine's 2nd tier support said today that the 1gb stick in the end user slot would upgrade the machine to 1.2gb, so at this point I guess I'll take their word for it.
On the plus side I returned my cracked hinge machine today at best buy for one that seems to be as it should.
