A few months ago, I was having problems with my video card as it would cause my games to crash. It would freeze for awhile, then the display would drop to a low resolution. The colors would be like vga graphics, and it would only be normal upon restarting the machine. It then evolved to my windows going to a blue screen with a lot of white text and restarting automatically. This would happen 2 minutes after windows loads every single time. And finally it reached the point where it now boots into windows fine, but there is no display at all on my laptop screen. There isnt even a backlight.

I tried connecting an external monitor to it, but it doesnt output a display onto that monitor either. I can load windows perfectly, hear the windows welcome chime, use the keyboard to navigate through windows. Basically I can do any operation as normal on the machine, but I can't see anything at all. The screen has been absolutely black for several weeks now. Anyone know how I can go about fixing this?

Another strange thing that happened was that a few weeks ago, I powered on the m6810 and was astonished that it was working perfectly, with the display appearing normally. I used this opportunity to use the emachines restore disc to make all the files and configurations the factory defaults. But after a week of normal use, the display failed to turn on yet again. It has been black for several weeks now.

The problem with that is that the machine has all the original factory settings and drivers now, and I can see absolutely nothing on the LCD. This makes it difficult to install new drivers, but I think it may be more than that because the LCD should at least function when I boot the computer up.
