Hi all, I'm not sure if this is a m6810, XP (Home edition, not Pro), or mouse issue, but, I have a Kensington Expert Mouse Pro (Trackball), and strangely, when I plug it in to the USB Port (the closest one on the left side, fwiw) on my m6810, I lose my internet connection! The mouse works, and the NIC and LAN connections register as active, but I cannot actually access the internet. Does anyone here have any experience with this problem?

    thanks,
    -peter

Q1. What happens if you try it in a different USB port?
A1. It could be a port problem, in otherwords, a system problem

Q2. Are you running on battery or AC?
A2. It's possible the USB ports could be drawing too much power

Q3. When you loose internet connection, is it the cabled LAN or wireless?
A3. If it's wireless it could be interference or a power drop if not connected to AC, if wired it could be related to Q1.

I have some quirks with the ports on my m6810 - the left rear USB port will not allow movement of the cursor until you are logged into windows (even although the led is illuminated).

I think I had a similar issue with the left side USB ports in that they were not live while booting (no led illumination)

I always use the right hand side USB port to save frustration - everything works fine when in windows though.

Tell it like it is...NOT how it should be :)

    hey thanks for the response.

I tried a different port (rear left), and it is working now. Though I use AC, it could have been disconnected at the time, and I use LAN a internet connection. I'll test the front left port again sometime making sure the AC power is in.

    thanks.
