    Hi all,

I've noticed that recently my emachines m5405 seems to be running a lot hotter than it was before. Whereas the fan used come on only occasionally under intense cpu load, it seems to be on almost constantly now, even when cpu load is minimal (such as web browsing).

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, any ideas greatly appreciated...

    TIA
    chris

By any chance have your power setting changed?

Sounds like your settings are now set to "Alway On" and if so the fan will run continuously.
