    Hi hope someone can advise, in plain english please not techno speak, I am a novice and have a emachines 500 series, is it possible to watch video using my laptop and view it on my tv.
    Will it do it?
    How?
    What leads do I need?
    Please could someone please explain.

    do you have a new HD tv or an old crt.

    The tv is about 4 years old, but not HD

    you need a video card with a TV out (im assuming this is a desktop, never really looked up the series)

    i would look behind your desktop and see where your monitor is plugged into, and then see if it has a yellow rca composite output, then plug it into your tv.

    or if your TV has an actual vga port, buy a vga wire (vga is the blue input, where your monitor is currently connected to)
