I really like my m6805. I was debating between this and the HP zd7000 for a desktop replacement, and this seemed to be a better value. The 64 but processor is plenty fast, hopefully will be a good investment so I can start running 64 bit software at some point.

It really is a great laptop. I went through a LOT of research, and returned three laptops. The one that finally impressed me enough to keep it was the eMachines 6805. It's fast, built solidly, and performes very well. It's not a screamer in graphics, but it's plenty fast to do anything out now, and shouldn't have too much of a problem with next-gen games such as Doom III and Half-Life 2. That's not mentioning its price, which is obviously very low.

However, the final thing that put me over the edge was the screen. It really is beautiful. It's no Sony (they're GORGEOUS monitors), but it's full of color, little to no ghosting, very clear, and has no light-leakage. The battery life is pretty good at about 2.5 to 3 hours. One funny thing is that it generates considerably less heat than even the Pentium-M-based notbook I owned. It's really cool. Finally, it weighs about 7 lbs., and I find it very easy to carry around.

Honestly, there's nothing to criticize about it. It's just a great machine.

its great notebook (i have m6809), i plaied the demos of ut2004, far cry, joint operation and playing AA, in all the games the video option is maxed @1280x800 and everything is smooth.

the only problem and big problem is the hard disk, its damn slow, i am thinking to change but dont know what to do with the old one (never sold on ebay and dont know any of my friends who wants to buy it) also the 7200 hd does not seem to offer performance more than 20% which is still not that great deal specialy compared with its price

regardless the hd it is great notebook, lot of add ons and great build quality
