my emachine m6805 runs at 1.8 GHz at all times. I am not sure how or when the default setting of 800 mhz on battery was changed, but i would like to reset it to the default. i havent found any relevant setting, the only thing i could think of trying was uninstalling the cpu drive and restarting. that didnt work. any ideas from someone way smarter then me?

I certainly wouldn't call myself smarter than you, but the only time I have seen this happen wihtout intentionally locking it at full speed is the CPU driver. Download and install the latest CPU driver from AMD's website. Older CPU drivers do not allow PowerNow to properly operate.
