Hello folks, I am planning on buying the Emachines m6811 and I am hoping one of you will know if its ram is upgradable to pc3200 rather than the pc2700 it has. I am just hoping the mother board supports it.. if any one has an answer please post it here!

I'd advise not to deal with TD, but alas, it's your choice.

And I don't think its compatiable with pc3200, although I'm not 100% sure.

It's refurbished, theres a 90 day warranty, and +200 for another year I think..

I personally would shy away from buying a refurbed laptop. If something goes wrong after the 90 day warranty is up, they are expensive to fix.

I was robbed by a sweet little old lady on a motorized cart and I didn't even see it coming.

I have a m6805 with the upgraded bios and running 1gb of pc3200 with no problem. I also bought mine refurbished from tigerdirect. the hinged cracked on me after the warranty was up. called emachines for some help maybe, they took care of everything free of charge. I will be ranting the praises from now on. Thanks emachines if you're there!

Does anyone know the maximum RAM that these things can take? And do they accept 3200 RAM? How did the users get 1GB of RAM in their machines, as they have 256 hardwired into the motherboard?

    Help.

I'm guessing 2GB is the max. 3200 will probably work, but will runt at 2700 speed. Put in a 1GB stick.

The internal is socketed too, just a pain in the butt to get to. If you expect 3200 speeds, you'll have to upgrade both sticks. Most people just put 1 Gig of 2700 in the external slot and go with 1.25 total.
