I visited the emachines webasite and could not find any driver updates available for download (M6811). Did I just not look hard enough or are there no drivers available?

When I first got my M6805, I tried emachines website too. They don't seem to do that support. Like upgrading bios and drivers. What you get is it from them. You are going to need to search in the forums, chat and individual component web sites. ex: AMD, ATI, Omega, VIA chipset...... etc. Good luck!

http://www.arima.com.tw/ViewSupport.asp?View=71 will get you to the Arima driver page. Arima makes the m68xx. You can also get updated drivers from the subsystem makers (VIA, Realtek, etc.)

    First PC = Vic-20, 8" 128KB Home-Brew Floppy Drive ... Current Rig = eMachines m6805 ... Quantum Leap?

It would be nice since they make 64 bit machines to have some 64 bit drivers on the site, especially ATI 64 bit drivers.

Unfortunetly, the windows 64 bit is not officially released yet. I think when it does though, that all the manufacturers will have working drivers either built into the OS or available for download. I have been testing RC1 for windows 64 for about a week now and the Broadcom wireless works now with the built in drivers. But I still had to tweak the ATI drivers to work properly. So far it is looking pretty good. Be patient, when it is finally released, it will be great.

I found a good selection of drivers at the unofficial emachines support site:

    http://www.e4allinc.info/dir1/motherboards/laptops/arima_W730_K8_downloads.htm

An updated touchpad driver can be found at the synpatics site:

    http://www.synaptics.com/support/drive.cfm

however, it causes an error ir you right click on the tray icon and select pointing device properties.
