    Ok does anyone know if Best Buy is dropping eMachines? The store only has 1 M5322, M68xx are all gone with no plans on restocking and the website no longer offers eMahines models. Just curious!!!!

    There could be a few things going on. They may be releasing new units, so BB is selling through current stock. It could also be that Gateway is wanting to get their machines in, displacing the eMachines units. It couls also be something else entirely, those are just my two most likely thoughts.

    They've got the Gateway laptops. They shouldn't be any different than eMachines as they are both made by Arima.

    First PC = Vic-20, 8" 128KB Home-Brew Floppy Drive ... Current Rig = eMachines m6805 ... Quantum Leap?

    Olyteddy is correct. Gateway purchased eMachines a few months ago. Gateway's new 70xx-series notebooks are very similar to the last round of eMachines units.

    7405GX = M6809

    That is just sad. Just when eMachines was making a lot of headway.

    Reminder to Gateway:

    eMachines has been a highly profitable company. Gateway has not been. Remember that as you try to push one product off of the shelf for another one.
