I'm looking at an eMachines M5310. It has exactly what I want at exactly the right price.
I don't know that much about eMachines and the quality of there laptops.
If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks

We've been big fans of eMachines over the last several months. They're much better from a performance, service and reliability perspective than their new parent company. For people who want a ton of performance within a tight budget, I don't think there's a better choice on the market today.

You're gonna see quality issues with any production run (lappys, desktops, cars, etc.) When you can, always buy the extended warranty from the manufacturer, cause nobody wants to be 'that guy.'
I have an eMachines desktop from the bad old days, before they really stepped up their quality and service, but it has been solid for me, though I've upgraded it several times and it doesn't really resemble the original product anymore...
Aaaaanyway, I think they should get a new logo and hire a new product exterior design staff 'cause most of their systems are butt ugly, but we don't buy them for looks. Usually.
Good product. Good price. Bottom line.

Gateway Computers recently bought out eMachines.
They say that they're gonna keep both product lines separate, but we'll see on down the road.
