    Hello,

Can anyone direct me to an internal view of the memory slots so I can add RAM? I've opened the SODIMM bay and found 1 (1 GB) chip installed. There are supposed to be 2 DDR2 SDRAM slots which I can not find. Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Tony

    Thanks for the reply.

According to the specs the computer should take up to 4 GB: 2 x 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM and 2 x 1 GB SODIMM. The seller advertized it shipping with 1 GB and I can see 1 SODIMM chip so, I figured I had 3 I could install. Sadly, no internal schematics are available on the website, that I can find.

    Any other help much appreciated,
    Tony

You might want to look at the slot again, sometimes it is right under the slot itself, or most of the time, under the keyboard.

    cheers ...

they are stacked one on top of each other, so if you can only see one, remove the RAM from that slot and it should reveal the other one underneath.

Thank you. The empty SODIMM slot is there. Do you know where the SDRAM slots are? If they're under the keyboard, do you know if I can open that panel without things falling apart? I've worked on desktops for years but have never disassembled a laptop.

    Thanks again,
    Tony

I have this computer and I can assure you there are two slots and probably one being filled with a 1GB stick. I will take a picture later. But it is the 2inch x 3inch panel right in the middle bottom of the laptop, take it off with the one screw and it will reveal the two slots. If only one is visible then the other is underneath. Yes you can undo that one screw and the only thing that will come open is the access panel.

You all are correct, thank you. I was getting confused with the terminology. I have a 2 GB stick on the way to fill the system since I only have a 32 bit OS and can only use 3 GB max. Thanks to all for your help.
