Doubt it very much since AMD is putting this AMD Athlon 64 2650e specifically for certain ranges of laptops, namely to OEM laptop manufacturers

    cheers ...

I have psoted this in another thread. It is possible you can, but I am not sure of the power supplies ability to provide a AM2 processor with the wattage needed since the system is made for a low wattage AM2 CPU. 15 watts for the 2650e. Most Desktop or other AM2 cpus are around 40 watts or more. I will be testing my laptop shortly as soon as my new processor arrives.

I've been tracking it and it should be here soon. I bought the 4850e dual core because it's 2.5 and 45 watts. Some time this weekend I'll find out and post. The only problem I might have is the bios. If so I'll still post. I posted in another thread about the memory and the 4gb pc2-5300 still is running strong, battery life took a small hit but it's expected. I imagine if the new processor takes it will shorten battery life too. No big deal though.

2.5 Ghz! AM2 4850e is up and running. Bios good, desktop reads full processor. I'll let it run over night to check for heat issues with case open and monitor temps to cpu heatsink with Fluke temp thermometer. Post tomorrow.

I have also installed an AMD X2 2.5 Ghz AM2 4850e and its been running fine for a few weeks now. Battery life is cut in half, but you can install 4GB of PC2-5300 ram

It won't work. I tried an Athlon II X2 235e and the laptop refused to turn ON.
