Well it's out as of yesterday, anyone heard or read anything from eMachines on whether their laptops can support it. I know we've had long discussions about the posibility of a BIOS upgrade required before it will properly.

eMach shouldn't have any problems, it's an OS upgrade and should work fine no matter the OEM. I installed SP2 on my Fujitsu just fine. There's a little more talk about this in the software forum.

i installed it on my m6809 and had a nightamre with the bsod, and after spending about 4 hours i could finally got into the desktop through safe mode (there is an option in the middle of the page when you press f8), however i found out that zonealarm is causing this problem so i had to uninstall and download the free version (my previous was pro) fromtheir site and now it works good.
there are couple of problems with divx and zonealarm which theinquirer.net has articles about them.
yeah, my data execution prevention is there now -
How did you guys get it already? I checked my installation history and don't have it installed yet but there are no new updates available when I use Windows Update.

It's out as a seperate download right now from several reliable file sites. IE http://www.fileplanet.com and http://www.download.com etc. It's not part of the Windows update yet, but I'm sure it will be within a few days.

Here's the link directly from the Microsoft site. It's only available as a full download, the Windows Update option will be available soon.
