My dvd drive vibrates alot, especially when I install a program, and when I run a game it does it as well.
Anyone have this problem? If so, what did you do? I am thinking of taking it back to BB, but at NotebookForums someone mentioned that all the 6811's were recalled and that BB won't carry Emac Laptops until the next model (6813?)
Any help would be great...
Thanks

I've noticed this too, sometimes. It appears to be that I put the CD/DVD in slightly skewy (not centered) Try different ways of putting the discs in...should fix it.
Doesn't appear to be a bug with the drive, just how the disc sits after you put it in. Make sense? -
thanks for responding...
however it happens ALL the time. On my 6809 it NEVER did that, and I am pretty certain that I know how to place a dvd or cd in my drive tray. I am just going to take it back to Best Buy and exchange it. The vibration is extrememly bad I can feel it in my kitchen and can even hear it
thanks for responding and trying to help me

why dont you just return it and get a new one?
maybe you'll get some more rebates while you're at it -
Eh, I intend to, but the nearest BB is an hour away and I am without wheels for the most part. I also work 5 days a week, but I am off Sunday and Monday, so maybe my gf can take me on Monday.
But oh yes...I am definately going to....
