I booted up my M6809 and after I logged in, and it was loading up the desktop a screeching syntax error sound was emitted from the side of the notebook (not the speakers). Never heard that one before, but the computer seem to load properly with the exception of spinning its hard drive loading something for what seemed to be a longer than normal amount of time. Has this ever happened to any one?

screeching Syntax Error but not from the speakers hey? well, maybe the sound card was having a hard time during the boot up, although that doesn't explain the hard drive spinning around. I would have rebooted to see what happened the next time if that happened to me, hopefully it's a one off occurrence...kind of disconcerting to hear such a thing though!
