I have an m6809 and couldn't afford the best buy extended warranty, and I was wondering if someone knows the details of the eMac warranty. How long is it? 1 year I am assuming? Is that with parts and labor?

My computer is running fine, but I seem to get the occasional beep (actually audible syntax beep) from the mother board (or at least inside the computer). And today I noticed for the first time that my computer too has a hairline fracture on the back of monitor hinge.

What is their policy on fixing these cracks? Does it have to break before they fix it? Do they fix it at all?

    Thanks for any info.

I think the basic warranty is one year. I bought the eMachines extended (3 years total for $189). The crack thingy is a problem they are all too well familiar with and will fix. The crack is however a cosmetic issue. If the crack bugs you, call them.

    First PC = Vic-20, 8" 128KB Home-Brew Floppy Drive ... Current Rig = eMachines m6805 ... Quantum Leap?
