to a Gateway 7215GX. I have one laying around that I believe the motherboard to be dead in and would like to know if I could find an emachines motherboard that would be a direct replacement. Is there one out there? Please help, I'd rather not part this laptop! The power button comes on, the harddrive starts, the processor heats up, and the dvd burner lights up, but no display and the cpu /vga fan don't spin up and I never get a post. Its out of warranty, and the power button is broke. So is there a replacement?

eBay is probably your best shot as buying it from Gateway will be expensive. You might want to consider selling it and getting a new machine.

I realise this, but I was hoping to find the motherboard twin from emachines that would fit into this gateway. As the only motherboard i can find on ebay is a gateway one for 300 bux. This isn't may laptop, thats why I'm asking. Its a friend of mine. (I have dell e1505)
