    After two years of torturing my M6807, the ATI 9600 gave it up. It’s been a good notebook. Every 28 days it got thrown in a bag and kept me company at my remote work site. I’ve must have played over 50 games on this thing during its time, as we would swap disk after completing a RPG or FPS. I had used over clocking last year for Far Cry, HL2 and Doom 3. :D

    Last month I noticed I was getting a random sheet of sparkly noise, no O.C. in over 6 months, on my DVD video overlay, ONLY when hardware acceleration was on. I gave up after new drivers and simply went to software decode and all was good except for 15% higher CPU. No video improvements in software just a bit higher CPU usage.

    Last week while saving a bargain basket RPG game Sacred, the screen came back up garbled with a blocky pattern, same thing through VGA port. :eek:


    I called E-machine support to check flat rate repair, $220 that covers shipping motherboard swap and 90 day warranty. I’m going for it, I took the bet, lost but feel I still will come back better than dealing with the B.B. crack squad, with their 3 year policy. YMMVary.

    The 64Meg 9600 is getting really old for the new games but it should serve my 17 year old just fine as he uses his 360 for the heavy stuff.

    Now to shop around for one of the cheap G-Force 7800 or ATI1900 laptops for Oblivion :)

    edit; m6807 repaired in 5 days for above flat rate, now running HafLife source :)
