Hi! Has anyone replaced their wifi card for a more sensitive card? What cards have you all looked at? Which ones will work? Will it void the warranty?

I just installed Xterasys(XG600)in my M6809 and it seems to connect faster than the Broadcom that came OEM.

I was looking for a more sensitive card. I would like one that could DETECT more sources and at a GREATER distance.

I would say it is more sensitive, cause the speed test is fairly close. The broadcom takes a little more time to sense the available network and connect.

AFAIK Bluetooth is always on a separate card that shows up as a USB device. That's how it is on my HP zv5000z and I believe on the Acer Ferarri 3200 as well. If eMachines/Arima didn't make an internal card slot for it (and I don't think they did), you're stuck with the usual USB radios.

I like Atheros better than Broadcom, and it's supposed to be better, but HP locked out non-HP cards [ :(!], so there y'go.

The connections were all standard including the antennae(2 gold plated connectors). I think there is a newer driver from www.xterasys.com than the one that comes with the card. No issues with bios or anything.
