I bought my M6809 earlier this week and I've been trying to burn DVDs with very little success. Has anyone else had any trouble with the burner that comes with the M6809?

Ritek G04. I have mixed success. If I'm trying to "directly copy" another DVD I have issues. These are DVDs that my desktop burner has no problem with.

THe Dvd drive in the 6809 is a LiteOn SDW-431S and is a very good drive. How are you doing the copy with only one drive? Are you putting an image on the HD? What software are you using to "backup" your disks?

All it actually says is "errors that may due to fingerprints, scratches, or other things". I'm not doing anything else with computer at the time and they are brand new discs.

I'm trying to use both the preinstalled Roxio Disc Creator and my own RecordNow Dx (that came with my Sony burner on my desktop). Both programs give the same errors randomly.

What errors are you seeing? Are they buffer underrun errors?

I have a M6809 with Pioneer DVD-RW K12D and works like a charm. No problems so far, knock on wood. [ :)]

If you are having the same issue with two different machines with two different writers, then you might have gotten a bad batch of DVD-R disks.
