    Greetings all,

I've been reading thru your great forums for a while now, as I "shop" for a DTR/Gaming Laptop. I finally signed on today, so "hi, everyone".

My immediate question: My wife has a eMachine M5312. I was curious if anyone knows wether or not the memory can easily be upgraded on this?

I popped-open the door on the memory compartment & only found a 256MB chip, while the system has 512MB. Does anyone know where the other 256MB are? And can the computer handle an upgrade to 1GB or more?

    Thanks,

    Mad Maximus

It's either integrated to the mobo, or in another compartment underneath the keyboard.

But, since you found one of the chips, that means it's very easy to upgrade it. It's as simple as taking that one out, and popping another one in. Should take you no more than 30 seconds to do so.

Also, check your computer specs, either online on the emachine's site, or on its manual for the max memory allowed.
