I recently purchased an M2350. I have no complaints so far. Has anyone else purchased one? Any problems or concerns that I should be aware of?

I bought one 4 weeks ago and have a cracked hinge on the left side. Have heard of problems with the m6809. Other than that, I like it!

After about a month the left hinge also had a hairline crack. I called tech support and was able to send it to eMachines for an LCD shell replacement. You can read my rather long post under the topic "Hinge Cracks" if you want to know more. Other than that, I still think its a great notebook.

I have a major problem with my brand new M2350. I tried to reformat the laptop's C drive with PartitionMagic from NTFS to FAT 32, and it resulted in the disabled BIOS. Now the computer does not boot. The customer service said that I voided the laptop's warranty by trying to change the computer’s configuration. I never had this type of problem with any other computers. BIOS should be hard drive independent.

Sorry to hear about your cracked hinge problem. Seems that a lot of the new emachines are having the same problem. My neighbor just bought a 6811 and has the same problem. I bought a 5312 back in the day (8 or 9 months ago) which is basically the same as the 2352 with a different shell. I have had no problems and love the computer.

    To user1:
Are you sure it is a BIOS problem? I also had problems with PM before, so now I prefer to stay away from it. What you can do is
    1. Try to run fdisk with mbr key:
    c:> fdisk /mbr
    2. If it does not help - try to reformat your HD with Windows installer. Do not format it from BIOS!
