This is my first time posting I just found your forums and it looks like there are a bunch of emachines users here. I just purchased an E-machione m 6809 from a friend who only used it once or twice its in like new condition. (http://www.emachines.com/products/products.html?prod=eMachines_M6809) I ma having overheating issues I play Half-life2 / Counter strike source / doom 3 ..etc. And after a few hours of gaming it gets so hot that the system will freeze up or the disply will start going wavey (looks like heat waves actually). I have bought a targus laptop cooler (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6211752&type=product&id=1074788100200) and run it witht eh battery fully charged as not to get any heat from the battery charging. I sit by the window or screen door were the cold air blows directly onto my machine (and me brrr.) but I cant get rid of this heat issue the lappy is stock except for the 4200 drive was upgraded to 7200 please help i dont want to damage my lappy but I primarely use it for gaming and CAD design.. the only things I can think of are to increase the RAM (maybe keep the HD from swapping and making heat) or try to find a PIMCIA cooler that blows directly into your laptop.. Is there anyway to turn up the fans on the inside or maybe improve airflow through the case or anything..??

I havent a clue as to what your problem would be. I know that the graphically intense games like that will make a notebook hot, but if you put on that laptop cooler, and was outside and stuff, idk what else you could do to cool it off. maybe the 7200 actually mada a big difference

    Looking for $650-$700 laptop

Lol, no, i have one on for 700 i'm buyin, and before you try that, you might want to make sure its just not the graphically intense game and the desktop-esk processor causing all the heat
