    Hello everyone.

I bought an eMachines M5414 in the spring of 2005.

Lately, the left button under my touch pad/tack pad/whatever you want to call the built-in-mouse has become loose. It wasn't that big of a deal.

However, recently it has become increasingly worse. When you barley touch one end, the other end pops up. I can wiggle it around a lot. It's just very loose. I can still press it and have it work fine, but the button is just very loose.

I'd like to fix this before it becomes an actual problem, plus it's an annoyance.

Is there anyway I can tighten the button? Could I possibly pop it off and put it back on?

    Thanks for your help.

i do not think that the button just can be popped out and in. The holding and spring mechanism are underneath/inside the cover. The best thing is removing the top cover and check it underneath.

    cheers ...
