Nothing seems to be working. I turn it on, it goes to the loading screen for the OS, and it ends up crashing. I go to safe mode and it crashes after loading like 30 some drivers. I can't find system restore on any of the menus. I tried using the option to load from the last known successful log-on settings, but it loads those drivers then pauses, flashes to a black, then to a blue screen in about a 1 second time frame, then restarts.

Does that mean my HDD is fried? o_O

EDIT: Okay, I disabled the automatic restart on crashes, and I'm left with a blue screen. "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME"

And here's what it gave me for technical information:

    *** STOP: 0x000000ED (0x851B7878, 0xC000009C, 0x00000000, 0X00000000)

I'm guessing each of the ones in the parenthesis represents an error. My laptop looks messed up? Or is it just an issue with the files in for Windows?

did you try your boot (install) disc that came with your emachines? You can repair files that may have been damaged or corrupt.
