I installed a 3400 in my M6805. Runs great except when I do a disk cleanup or play games it blue screens or freezes up.

Any suggestions on how to stop this is greatly needed.

A bios flash might do the trick, if that doesn't work post back and i will post the question on another forum for you with more members.

    Good luck

I did the current bios flash for the M6805 also can you or anyone give me the link to download the current chipset drivers for the M6811? I beleive that will help me since it comes with the 3400+ onboard it and maybe updating the chipset drivers on my M6805 may help. I'm hoping it's not a heating issue. Now my system freezes with games since I updated the CPU to the 3400+

I'm going to try and re seat the processor and I have a question. If I use thermal material on the top of it would that help with the cooling of the CPU?

That's doesn't seem to be always true. I have swapped out cpu before and the only thermal there was the orange looking tape. Even this one had the orange tape on it when I swapped it out. I know the tape is a thermal type of compound but the new CPU I installed did not have that on it and I have never seen putting on the grease like Artic Silver on a CPU for a Note book. If you look and the pictures in the thread on the CPU being swapped out you'll see in those pictures the thermal compound is a orange tape on the CPU

It is the 2nd picture down.

    http://www.notebookreview.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1100

Again my chip didn't come with the tape on it so I wanted to use the Artic Silver and see if it would work.

[ :)]Hey Learux could you email me the drivers to:

    [email protected]

I never got the first ones you emailed.

Yes goto EMAIL.com and set up a free account with them. You can email Rar files with them and you get 6gigs of space.

ALso AOL is now giving out free emails to anyone that wants them with 10gigs of free space. Yahoo is offering up to 25gigs free and Google is offering up to 100 whopping gigs free.

Does your ISP provide and email account? If not try other free ones like GMail (google) or MSN etc.
