I've got an eMachines M6809 and recently I've been having many problems with my hard drive and seem to be getting more and more unrecoverable errors and unreadable sectors. I've been having this problem for a while and have finally decided to just get a new hard drive. However, I was wondering how difficult or easy it is to actualy replace them. I've fairly computer savy (built many a PC) but I've never attempted to work on a laptop. Do I have to take this somewhere to get replaced? Or can I just order a new HD online and install it myself?
Also, does anyone know the specifics of the M6809 harddrive and what kind of replacement drive I should be looking for? Thanks in advance for anyhelp you can give me!!

You only have 2 screw underneath that hold the Hard Drive in and it justs pulls out in a caddy.

Easy to install and upgrade your OS

Awesome. Will any "laptop" harddrive fit? Or will only a specific kind?

You can really use any laptop drive, just format it. I suggest you go no lower than 60 gigs and 7200 RPMs so you don't get bottlenecks
