Have you checked under the keyboard. Alot of manufacturers like to put the second slot under there

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply most posts on this forum suggest that Dimm1 and Dimm2 are visible once cover is removed now I know my eyes are not as good as they were but hey even with a magnifying glass I can't see the damned thing has anyone got any info/photo's of dimm2 location on this D620 laptop at all please or have I just got a single dimm model (though everest suggests otherwise) if dimm 2 is located under keyboard how on earth do I get to it or should I just plonk a single 2 gig stick in and junk the 1 gig stick from dimm1 as that is accessible whereas dimm 2 is hiding extremly well. I was hoping to upgrade to 2x2gig sticks and had it been a simple job, it should be, I was going to do it over the weekend, or should I send it to my local rip off/pc retailer to be upgraded??

    Many Thanks

    Hi,
Yes this is the same machine I have looked several times at these photo's and whereas I can see where the ram goes from the photo's it is still not plain as to where dimm2 is located, however having said that my ram is nowhere near as big as that stick shown on photo my stick has 1 row of ic's not 3 as in pics. the pic does however look like the ram is stepped is that an optical illusion or do I need to go back to my opticians!!!! lol

    Many Thanks

The photo in my link, does the the memory not sit one slot behind the other?

EDIT : in the 4th photo it looks like it does.

    Hi,
thanks again for the reply I will dismantle the machine once my wife has finished on facebook!!! and look again but from what I can remember I could not see another set of connectors indicating a second dimm slot underneath dimm1 though I may be wrong I really hope I am as I am not looking forward to dismantling the bloody keyboard in search of dimm2, though in one of the phot's it does look like one dimm is sat on another in a stepped fashion

    Many Thanks
