I'm thinking about buying an E-Machines M5322 for £799.99 from a supplier (PCWorld/Curry's) in the UK. I've trawled the net but cannot find a single review or alternate supplier of this machine.

Does anyone own one and can provide feedback or know of any reviews out there?

    Cheers.

I believe that that is basically the same system as my 5312. You might want to look that up. The only difference that I can see is that mine has a 60 gig hard drive instead of 40. These are the units that were top of the line for Emachines about a year ago. TechTV really liked them at the time. I bought mine about 9 months ago and I LOVE IT!!! I have had not problems with it and I am a heavy user. It can even play counter-strike wirelessly, which is very cool. I mostly use it for work and net surfing though. I have had great experiences with emachines tech support. I was planning on buying another (one of the 6 series) until I read about the cracked hinges.

Definitely the same box if that picture is correct. I have had none of the hinge cracking problems that you may have read about on this site with the other models. Looks like a good package for the money to me.

    Good luck!

Well that works out to be $1450 (approx) at current exchange rates.

    I'd rather have the M6810 for that price m8 [ ;)]

My girlfriend has the 5300 series while I have a 6809... and let me tell you I would pick the 5300 any day, if for no other reason that the sturdy construction.

The 6800s just feel cheap and they have the hinge cracking problem. The 5300s are sturdier and lighter and sleeker-looking.

Graphics Card Type ATI IGP 320M....

$1450 for a laptop with that as the graphics solution?

$800 tops is what I'd say was a decent price these days.

Thats the same solution my Compaq 2199US had in it...for $650...

Unfortuneatly living the in UK most consumers are well and truly ripped off.

I'd try for a cheap return flight to NY and pick up a machine in the USA and have a free weekend away rather than pay the full UK price any day [8D]
