    Helloa everyone!
I'm new here. Just bought myself an eMachines M6805 last night and I have a question. Do I need to use a surge protector or does the AC adapter have some sort of protection built into it. Thanks for your help.

Yes, you should get yourself a good surge protector, APC is a good brand. The AC adapter just converts the power from AC to DC, but does not protect your system from any power spikes or dips. If the system is going to be mobile a lot, APC has a product that is small enough to carry with you.
