OK I’ll admit that my M6810 is on 24/7 and that might contribute to my consistant bluescreens and reboots.

(I can play games and surf all night long and normally everything is perfect - it mainly occurs when I leave the pc to it's own devices during the day or night)

Generally speaking my M6810 is rock solid but I tend to leave it running while I sleep and while I am at work running Emule.

I like my old TV shows and that’s about the only way I’m going to get them. (Currently watching the 1970s show “Survivors” from the BBC)

I’ve only witnessed the bluescreen happen twice so far when using the PC. Most other times I come back to the PC with the serious error occurred message and do I want to send a report etc.

Any of you guys/girls here experts in bluescreen messages? [ :(]

I have Windows XP Pro installed with SP1 and so far on desktop applications (for me anyway) it has been rock solid. I think I’ve only seen a bluescreen once with XP on my desktop systems in the past 2 years or so?

    Thanks in advance

You might try something like Registry Mechanic. It's cheap and might help clean up some of the remnants that could be causing you trouble. Last resort, repair or reinstall XP.

    I'll check it out then.

Yesterday I went home after some 15 hours away from the pc and it was still running fine.

This morning (6 hours later) it had re-booted...[xx(]

Hard to say what actually causes it at this point.

Emule has some weird glitches, try turning that off for a change.

I returned home yesterday to find that the notebook had rebooted (as expected!) and decided to try out Registry Mechanic

Well I installed Registry Mechanic and found 126 problems – I reviewed most of them which in all honesty amounted to nothing in my estimation.
I "repaired" all of the suggested problems and hoped that would be the end of it!

I was using the PC for probably an hour with just a few simple programs running, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, IE6 & Skype.

I was actually in the middle of a Skype call when the notebook blue-screened and rebooted.

I guess I can cross Emule off the list of culprits then…[ ;)]

The rest of the evening was without any trouble and I loaded up Emule before bed and woke up to see that it had in fact re-booted during the night.

The system runs pretty cool in general so I doubt it is over-heating – ambient temperature is pretty cool here at the moment with 19c in my living room.

I suppose I just need to analyse the error report generated? Or at least ask somebody that understands these things..[8D]

Well I don't think that Registry Mechanic solved any bluescreen issues but I installed an old copy of NSW 2004 that I had lying around and so far I've not had any bluescreens...[ :)]

Of course now that I said that I'll get a bluescreen..[ ;)]
