On my 6809 my dvd drive will open if i just press on the cover, I don't have to press the button on the drive just the cover... This really sucks if I pick up my laptop to move it and accidently hit the cover cause then the DVD drive opens.. Does anyone else's do this?

Still no fix to the PN, the reg settings from yours to mine match exactly.. So that's not where the problem lies. I emailed AMD about it, and they kicked me to level 2 tech support, thanks again for the reg setting I would have got back to you sooner, but I was out of town for the Holiday. Thanks HD.

No prob. I just thought of something. Do you have SP2 installed? I don't... eh? I don't know.

On the DVD Drive thing, hope that can get fixed. I know it would bug me to know end...

Yeah I have SP2 installed... But I did a clean install of SP2 when I first got my laptop and installed powernow no prob and it was working great.. Then I made the mistake of getting a new harddrive and did the same exact thing as I did before fresh install of SP2 and for no reason at all NO Powernow.. Just pisses me off. As for the DVD drive, I don't know about it.. I am sending it to emachines for the hinges so maybe they can fix that while they are at it.

It sounds like something fell behind your drive bezel and has come in contact with the eject button. I could be wrong, but there is a small gap there. Try blowing out the bezel with a can of air.

I can see nothing physically behind the drive bezel.. I blew it out with some canned air and no luck. If i press on the front side of the drive, it doesn't open, when i press the button it opens, and when i press the drive in the back it opens... The drive feels kinda flemsy when it is open and has a lot of slop in it from front to back. Any ideas?
