    When I told eMachines that I was going to contact the California Attorney General, the tech told me that he was goint to "terminate the call now." Must have gotten his attention. If cracked hinges are a repeat problem for some, there may be good reason to contact the following:

    eMachines has been pretty good with fixing all the cracked hinges. I don't see the need to take it to the next level unless they (emachines) have screwed you. I know its a pain in the a$$ to deal with all the shipping and loss of your lappy, but give them a chance to make things right. [ ;)]
