I may have missed this in the forum, but it want to swap out the processor in my M6805 and install the AMD Athlon 64bit 3400+ mobile 1MB L2 2.2GHZ socket 754

Has anyone done this and how did it do?

The processor sits in a standard ZIF socket. Just open it up and drop it in. The power/thermal requirements are virtually the same (81.5 watts) for the 3000+ to 3700+ DTR processors. Make sure you get the DTR (Desk Top Replacement) version without the processor die/heat spreader. Here's the post showing the processor and heatsink. (3rd pic down)

Now the next question is what bios should I use? I have the current Bios for the m6805 that eMachines has finally posted.

That the latest bios (0F08) for the M6805, M6807, M6809/M6810, and M6811. You should be good to go.
