Hey all. I'm trying to get this stupid thing to work. I'm so lost now. No where else to turn. So here goes...

I'm using an M6811. I just installed the 64 bit version of WinXP (shhh!) Anyway, I ran into a Thunk.exe error trying to install the catalyst driver from ATI's site (in spite of the fact that it was the 64-bit version of the driver as well.) So I went into the advanced settings to change the video driver, turned off the box that said "compatable drivers only", lo and behold there was the driver I was looking for - ATI Radeon Mobility 9600-9700. I selected it. Well, now I can get just about EVERY resolution EXCEPT for 1280x800. I can get 1152x864. I can get 1280x768. Hell I can get 2048x1536. But nooooo I can't get 1280x800. Help!

Anyone? It's been three days and ATI's helpdesk is better off not even existing.

I have a very similar problem.
I am not sure what drivers I was running, but I decided to download the latest Omega drivers for the mobility, and now all I get is 1280 by 760 (or something like that).

I have unistalled all the drivers, no luck.
Installed different new drivers, no luck.

I am about to use the System restore and see if that works.

But why I screwed up my computer in the first place is that I was looking for the best video driver for the M6809... clearly I did not find them.

    Have you?

Here is the solution. all you need is the DH Mod Tool V3. You can install the latest ati 64 bit drivers, but you may want to do a custom install and not install the catalyst control panel as i was having a conflict with that. you can get it here:
    http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/

also for those who are using x64, can you help me with a problem i'm having? i'm using an m6805 and having a problem with the system clock losing time. do any of you have this problem and do you know how to solve this problem. I started a thread about this earlier. it's http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=43301
