just bought the 1gb card and put it in my emachines M6809 but I noticed that I crashed frequently lately especially when I do more than one thing at one time (like play battlefront and downloading world of warcraft at the same time).

My comp's monitor would suddenly have a blue screen with lots of words on it and it would restart. And the last few crashes the screen just went black and restarted. Is there something wrong with the card? Cuz I didnt do anything special to my computer other than the card that would cause these restarts.

I didnt run Memtest yet because I do not understand how to work it. Could someone tell me how to do it? Thanks

Sounds like a compatability issue. You may want to try buying the ram that emachines is selling on their web site. This would be your best bet to get compatability.

Works very well on my M6805. Many people on this forum had success with it. I would run MEMTEST and make sure that it's not a defective chip that you got from Outpost. May be it needs to be replaced.

I just bought what is probably the same stuff from Fry's Online.
It was 179 with shipping and tax it was $200.

I will admit the memory does look like crap compared to what I pulled out of the machine.

But I have run it flawlessly under heavy use for about a week now with no problems what so ever.

Hi guys!!! Has anyone used this Fry’s memory on the M6811? I’m thinking about giving it a try.

It is not a compatibility issue. It must be a bad stick of RAM. There are tons of people on another forum I participate on that have had no problems with the Fry's stick.

Hi guys! I just ordered a 1 GB stick of that Fry’s “premium memory” not the Legacy memory (I think?). It should arrive today. I’ll keep you guys posted on my progress.

So far…, sooo good! I’m using my M6811 on battery power, and I see a notable increase in speed (it feels like its plugged in). I’ve always hated to run off of battery power due to the drop in speed. I’m almost afraid to plug it in. I still have to run diagnostics and speed test.
