Anyone here own the emachine M5405 with the AMD Sempron in it at Best Buy. How the processor compared to the rest of the AMD lines offered out there. Thanx in advance for the feedback.

funny you should ask, somebody contacted me via the site today to say they were interested in doing a review for the m5405 and hopefully they follow through on it, although I haven't heard back yet. Sorry I can't help you myself here, I've never used that machine.

Yeah, I was looking for a review too. Seem like nobody either heard of this model or simply nobody have any experiences on this fairly new sempron processor of AMD. Emachine seem to get a lot of good review on quality so hopefully this trend would continue. Hopefully there be some reviews coming in cuz I hate to let this deal pass at best buy. This laptop is dirt cheap after all.

    check out
    http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1706488,00.asp
this model is almost as invisable as the m 5410
bestbuy.ca has them both but any info on emachines.com
    must still be top secret?
the 5410 is a sempron 3.0 ghz with a ati mobility

Thanx Steevda for the info. Great appreciate it. I don't know why it so secretive about this current model? Kind of weird in a way, but I guess for the price and value they offering...they may not want it to sold out[ :p][ :D].

Yeah was looking for some for a couple of friends. For some reason, this machine always seem to be a mystery. Last week, some people said best buy have it on sale for 599 but when i check their site, nothing listed. Are they stop making this or something cuz this model seem on and off quite a time?

In a lot of respects, it looks likek Gateway is pushing eMachines out of the notebook sales arena. If you walk into Best Buy and look at their selection, they have the eMachines m6810 and Gateway 7405GX side by side. They are the exact same machine from the same ODM, rebadged. The Gateway 7405GX is an eMachines m6809, part for part.

I bought the 5405 this month at BestBuy, I paid 599 and took the 99 serviced agreement for 2 years, which includes replacing the battery if needed. I must say I'm very impressed with the performance, it's fast and user friendly. I installed a linksys wireless router to my cable connection and the performance anywhere in the house is incredible. If you look at an e-machine and Gateway you can tell they are using the same parts so if you like Gateway you wil love emachines (price). It's hard to find info about this machine but if somebody offers a great deal .... GET ONE !!!!
I have not encountered any problems so far , battery life is ok could be better but you will get 2,5 hrs. Wireless is very convenient and works great. Ok enough said .... Excellent value for the money !!!!!
