I don't know about Ubuntu .... is it 64bit for the AMD64 processors? Anyway, a guide would be quite useful, although I have only used Fedora as a total linux newbie. Additional items that could be covered are how to set up the various repositories and the differences between updaters such as yum or synaptics. Also, I haven't figured out how to get my webcam to work in linux.

Ill write a guide for 64 bit and 32 bit. THey are slightly different... the driver you will use for your wifi card will be different. and getting 32 bit apps to run under 64 bit ... requires extra explanation.

I don't have a webcam... but apparently ... all you have to do is open a terminal and :

    sudo apt-get install libpt-pluins-v4l

You can also just open up synaptic and do a search for that file instead. Command line is faster. Sudo means that your running the command with root permission. After you get the file:

Start GnomeMeeting and change the video plugin to 'v4l' in the GnomeMeeting Preferences (instead of 'v4l2') and set the channel to 0.

    And it will work.

Diffently write the guide.. Maybe you can do a mini guide for the wireless first, cause I (linux newbie) can get ubuntu and fedora core 4 installed fine and setup but have no clue on how to get the wireless to work... So hopefully you can write the guide to install wireless drivers first. Much appreciated.
