On some browsers you will have to move your cursor over the picture then click on the icon that pops up at the bottom right.

Same here, I installed the first time normaly and nothing. I then read the FAQ and did what it said, it rewrote the .dll, rebooted, but still don't get the PowerNow Tab.

I changed my AC Power settings to 'always on' and it reports 2.00Ghz, as I was only getting 801Mhz after installing XP Pro.

I just installed it through 'Program Compatibilty Wizard' (start>programs>accessories>Program Compatibilty Wizard) in Win2000 mode, and it works. I can see that AMDPowernow tab and can selet 'high performance' for battery. However, if I check the speed from control panel>systems, then it shows 793MHz. But CPUInfo utility, downloaded from AMD website, is showing 1804MHz. I can also feel that it IS running at full speed. I think Windows Xp mis-reads the speed (I think I saw a warning like that while installing AMD cpu driver}.

If you are looking at the system properties screen to get the 800Mhz on battery then that could be your problem. Download a program called CPU-Z. It will tell you the correct frequency.

i tried CPU Z and it reports the CPU as running at 800 Mhz while on battery i dont see the power now tab in the power properties. and windows freezes when the computer reboots when i first install the patch. is there an explanation for that? is that whats cuasing the problem? or is it Bios related?

AJVETT, do you have AMD's CPU driver installed or you are using Windows' default driver? Could that be the problem???

For what its worth, picked up a M6809. Installed XP pro on it last night, installed amd cpu driver off the restore dvd.

Installed powernow following the faq, and I don't get any powernow tab on my power settings.

I wrote the following yesterday in another thread:

I tried this AMD driver (1.1.0.14) on my 6809 today and had to roll it back. It brought program installs to a crawl. There is a reference to 100% cpu usage in Known Issues with this driver in the readme file, and it appeared to rear it's ugly head on my notebook. I wouldn't recommend this driver for our eMachines.
