Hi, on 5/27/04 I bought m6809 off the shelf at Best Buy with a memory upgrade. I cannot adjust the display output to either a lcd Benq 20" (fp2081) or to a crt 17" Compac from wide screen to fit the size of the monitors. eMachine support says it's Benq. Benq support (very helpful, and nice) says it's ATI. ATI support won't talk to me because of notebook configuration. I downloaded and installed (I think) HydroVision. Please help. PS What does Avatar in profile mean? I can't find e6809 on the list. Thanks.

    This should work for you.

Go to control panel, display, settings. You should see two blue rectangles. If you click on Blue Box #2, you should be able to change screen resolution right next to Color quality to fit your needs. Right below that, you can decide to use the external monitor to extend the Windows desktop.

E-mail me if it works. It has worked for me on my Sony.
