This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    eGPU + OS in the same thunderbolt box?

    Guys, guys.. listen.

    1. Get a CUBE2 (3 PCIe slots, plenty of power)
    2. Get a GPU and a PCIe SSD
    3. Install OS + games + functioning drivers on the SSD.
    4. Plug to any Thunderbolt equipped computer and PROFIT!

    For guys with PC the external OS does not make much sense but for all the MacBooks out there it would be nice.
    Sorry for the useless post, I just wanted to share my dream build.

    Having two pcie devices connected limits the performance of the GPU I believe. But I hope this could be a possibility one day.
