Hello
I just received my PE4L 2.1b today.
I cant seem to make the computer recognize the card.
I have a X220 i7 (bios ver1.29). I am using a EVGA GTX 560ti 448 Classified. I have a 550 watt PSU.
I connected the 2 PCI-E power plug to the GPU and the powersupply. I have the small connector from the pe4l to the floppy disk connector set on the power supply. When i power up the power supply i have the light R1 turn green and and R3 orange. R2 and R4 are off. When i connect the pci card to my computer nothing happen. Windows doesnt do anything and doesnt recognize anything. If i go in the device manager nothing happen either. I tried to connect it while windows was running, before starting up my computer, while starting up my computer. Nothing happen. I tried to install that setup 1.x thing. I don't know if it went well. I booted from my usb flash. Then it went into that software. I choose the first option (the automatic something), and then the computer booted. but it didnt change anything.
The Fans on the GPU are running. They are running at a moderate speed. Not really fast, but fast enough so I cant see the wings.
Also, on the PE3L 2.1b, the SW1 is at 1 and the SW2 is at 2-3.
Anyone have any idea what im doing wrong?
Edit : thinking about it, i think it might be my GPU that doesn't start up correctly. The fan are running but i'm not sure it is getting full power. Is their anyway to verify this? I don't have access to another PC to test the power supply or the GPU. Is their another way to see if it powers up other than with a PC?
Thanks!

Here's how I do it :
- plug PE4L into X220 with everything off
- power egpu on (D4-red, D3-yellow and D1-green lights switch on)
- power X220 on (D4 switches off, D3 and D1 stay on)
In the BIOS, make sure that the express card speed is set to Automatic.
If it still doesn't work, you'll need to test with another PSU and/or another graphics card. -
Thanks for the answer. I finally figured it out. The problem is I was using 2x 6pin to power the card. The card comes with 2 power slot, one 6pin and one 8pin. The manual says that you can power the card with only 2x 6pin instead. How ever, what I didnt know was that even if you use 2x 6 pin, you have to use an adapter to go from 6pin to 8pin. I found that an adapter came with the card so I used it and the card powered correctly. Everything else was very easy to do after.

I am having the same issue... tried this as well (and also checked Power Connections). So everything should be set well and DSDT Override is applied.
What happens at my eGPU following your bulletpoints:
OK: - plug PE4L into X220 with everything off
OK: - power egpu on (D4-red, D3-yellow and D1-green lights switch on)
NOPE: power X220 on (D4 switches off, D3 and D1 stay on)
--> Here the Orange (D3) switches off.
The device is still not recognized in device manager.
Any idea?
