Bplus has started selling engineering samples of their TH05 (Thunderbolt to pci-express) adapter.

Lucid is also creating an external gpu.

This sounds awesome! Finally some progress.... I still have one question though, would it be possible to use the internal display with thunderbolt on a laptop?

I was wondering the same thing. If your setup was Optimus compatible, it would definitely be able to (NVidia card + intelHD graphics). But AMD cards don't have Optimus. A way I could see this working would be because thunderbolt is both display and pci-e, it could theoretically do both. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

lucid is known for their vaporware. but imo they are the ones that could develop amazing graphics that could allow easily enable the use of the notebook internal lcd. but then anyway I didn't saw that in those news.
